Qualifications

  • Rebekah gained her doctorate in executive coaching and coaching teams in 2012.
  • She has an MA in management from City University, specialising in managing people, and managing in the music industry.
  • She graduated with Honours from the Royal Academy of Music as a concert soloist (voice).
  • Ongoing regular CPD has led to diplomas and certificates in managing safety and health in the workplace from IOSH (2013), counselling skills, understanding mental ill health, mental and physical health first aid (2021), LEAN and Kaizen manufacturing models (2022), mindfulness and CBT coaching (2022).

Experience

  • The academic rigours of a doctorate in work-based learning meant testing and applying a model of work through a cycle of case studies, practice, and reflective learning to improve, grow and become a better practitioner.
  • During this time (2008-2012) as a co-director of a recruitment and coaching company, she worked with senior leaders in companies in the aerospace, defence and motorsport industries. Projects included: a search for a Board in the UK and USA; searches for HR, Finance, Sales directors, and SVP USA; coaching new appointees (from the UK, Italy, Holland, China, India, USA, and Australia) in the first six months of their recruitment; coaching their teams; running facilitation meetings, eg between the MoD and a supplier; and outplacement coaching.
  • Also in this period she gained associate tutor status at the University of Chester to deliver a post graduate diploma course on wellbeing in the workplace. She has written staff manuals, and wellbeing handbooks for companies.
  • Rebekah has delivered training in collaboration with other consultants both online and in person to teams from around the world in the technology and pharmaceutical industries.
  • Prior to this Rebekah had worked in the field of politics, spending six years at the House of Commons as a chief of staff, and two at the Greater London Authority as the senior aide to the leader of a political group. She has held elected positions in London and Sussex, plus the London Fire & Emergency Planning Authority, and has held the posts of Mayor of her town and speaker of the ancient Confederation of Cinque Ports. She is a serving JP.
  • Rebekah’s musical background has meant a lifetime of a disciplined and dedicated work ethic. She has performed as a soloist at most of the leading London concert halls, recorded for Classic FM, and at Abbey Road studios. She has nearly 40 years experience of standing up in front of an audience.

Approach

  • Working on a one-to-one basis to truly understand the background, rationale, and expectations from a request for coaching, facilitation or training.
  • Listening to the needs of the client, exploring them, and working collaboratively to present a proposal that is right for the individual.
  • Being prepared to think outside the box to help others find a solution to the issues they face.
  • Using tools such as solutions-focused, person-centred coaching plus self-reflection as a way to learn, an attitude of grounded positive psychology, being non-judgemental, open, honest and ethical with every client.
